The history of the band began in 2018 with the release of their debut single “Mountainside,” the cinematic music video for which was filmed in the snowy mountains of Norway. The song quickly attracted the attention of critics and entered the top lists of the Finnish viral charts on Spotify. In the following years, Crimson Peak released successful singles “Closer” and “I Won't Grieve,” which received active support on European streaming platforms.
In 2021, the musicians presented their debut EP Wonders & Worries and the single “Lies,” which clearly showed the roots of American folk music and blues through the use of acoustic guitars and banjo. In the autumn of 2024, the band released their first full-length album titled Music About Feelings and embarked on a concert tour across cities in Finland and Sweden. The musicians emphasize that they create music primarily for their shared pleasure and sincere emotions.
Their full-length release Music About Feelings is an eight-song indie-rock album performed in English. Songs such as “Oblivion,” “All for You,” “The One,” and “Boys Cry” were previously released as singles and made it into Spotify's New Music Friday charts not only in Finland but also in Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.
Regarding their album, the members of Crimson Peak explained that the work on the record had begun when they spent a hot week together in the countryside of Ostrobothnia in the summer of 2022. They noted that every song had its own story, but in most cases, their songs started with someone having an idea, after which the whole band brought it to life together. The musicians added that the lyrics were mostly written by their vocalists, Lina and Elias.
