Discovery of the Week: Crownshift
The new supergroup of the Finnish heavy scene and the birth of powerful modern metal
Crownshift is a Finnish metal band that is rapidly gaining popularity in their homeland, having released their debut album Crownshift in early May of this year.

The band's lineup includes Tommy Tuovinen (MyGrain), guitarist and vocalist Daniel Freyberg (ex-Children Of Bodom, ex-Bodom After Midnight), bassist Jukka Koskinen (Nightwish, Wintersun), and drummer Heikki Saari (Finntroll).

Even after the release of their debut single “If You Dare,” it was clear that the band had headed in the direction of a modern sound rooted in melodic death metal and groove.

Their record label Nuclear Blast described the team by noting that the quartet easily covered a diverse range of styles and possessed a unique sound. They added that from hypnotizing melodies combined with tearing riffs to moody mid-tempo songs and fierce prog-death metal opuses, Crownshift had been born to be masters of all trades.

At the moment, it is worth noting that Crownshift have made an excellent start, and their debut album is truly worthy of listening and positive reviews.
