Insomnium Release Tenth Studio Album “Netherworlds”
The melodic death metal masters make a powerful return with their milestone tenth record released via Century Media Records. The new material delivers a dynamic blend of aggressive riffs and atmospheric melancholia driven by mystical concepts
Today, the Finnish melodic death metal masters Insomnium have officially unveiled their tenth studio album, titled Netherworlds. The release took place via Century Media Records, arriving three years after the launch of their previous record, Anno 1696.
Musically, the new album continues the band's long-standing traditions, masterfully blending their signature melancholic melodic death metal, aggressive riffs, and a dark gothic atmosphere.
The frontman, Niilo Sevänen, characterized the fresh material as one of the most driving and dynamic works in their discography, highlighting the single “Gleam in the Black” as the main live anthem, for which Swedish director Patric Ullaeus shot a large-scale music video. The album is entirely dedicated to mystical stories.
