New Album from Blackment
The band's second full-length record delivers a seamless blend of complex progressive structures and heavy melodic riffs. Its autumn release follows a deliberate delay intended to provide meticulous final polishing to the material
Blackment is a band from the town of Hyvinkää, formed in 2014, that creates music at the intersection of melodic heavy metal and progressive metal. Blackment builds its sonic identity on a combination of dense guitar riffs, atmospheric synthesizer layers, and the wide vocal range of Sami Vuorenheimo. The group's debut record, Plains of Oblivion (2022), earned them a “Newcomer of the Year” nomination from the specialized music publication Kaaoszine and allowed them to reach the semifinals of the national Wacken Metal Battle Finland competition. Pandemonium Portrait is the band's second full-length studio album, released on September 18, 2026. The musical material combines the complex composition structures of progressive metal with a melancholic atmosphere. The band had initially planned to release the record in the spring, but they deliberately postponed the release to the autumn for additional refinement of the material.
